So So Beautiful

Wow-this is beautiful; the people, the traditions, and the way of life. Be proud to be beautiful and be proud to be you. I'm gonna have to go to Egypt someday! ;)

Be A Kid Again

Embrace your individuality, creativity, and your imperfections! You're perfectly fine just the way you are! (this is a shout-out to those who overly criticize themselves and think that they're superhuman) It's okay to make mistakes and to enjoy life for what it is. So let's bring out the crayons and start doodling! :)

Chicago-The Windy City

Today, my family and I are moving my brother into his apartment in Chicago. He attends the University of Chicago and is spending his last year outside the dorms. Last summer, I attended a summer program at UChicago studying Egyptology. I was extremely excited to revisit many of the stores and restaurants that I enjoyed during the summer program. The apartment is nice-hardwood floors, dishwasher, sink, a small porch; it is also located in a very accessible area. However, like any apartment that has not been inhabited for a very long time, there are a few critters. Hopefully, we will be able to exterminate them before they become a serious problem.

It's Not Religious--It's Cultural

We need to change the worldwide treatment of women. Women should have the freedom to make their own decisions, whether it is to wear the head covering, to drive a vehicle, or to pursue education. I applaud the Saudi Arabian women who are challenging the cultural standards of their nation and are seeking to create a renewed vision for Saudi Arabia's future.

PORTLANDIA

After seeing this, it made me laugh--hysterically. Urban Outfitters probably copied off of this lol.

Grad Parties...keep them coming

Yesterday, I went to two grad parties. Everything was great--the food, people, conversations, the homes, and the music. I partied from about 3 to 11pm; in some ways, I wish that every Saturday could be like this. Also, (I almost forgot) on Friday, my family and I celebrated Shabbat, the day of rest in Judaism. My brother blessed the bread in Hebrew, and I also said a prayer in Hebrew with the two candles. I wore a loose headscarf while the men wore a kippah as a showing of humility and respect towards a higher being. My favorite dishes include the grape leaves, hummus, challah, couscous, and salad--and, of course, dessert. Well anyway, today's Father's Day, and I think I should be doing something that shows my appreciation for his care for my family (haha). So, I'm gonna get going and I'll ttyl. Shalom ;)

Black Progression

Black Progression in the United States is always changing--sometimes it increases or decreases. See this vid to see what I mean.

Rasta Man....

Nice video :) This is pretty hip and different from any video I've ever seen.

Everything is Over....

Prom, graduation, Senior May Project, my life at Cranbrook Kingswood, Awards Ceremony--everything is finally over. Now, I need to look forward to a new trail to blaze--college on the East Coast.

This is too cute...

Watch this vid. This is sooo creative; I wish I could do this ;)
